The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens | Photo Diary
The Huntington
Strolling around gardens is one of my favorite things to do. You’ve probably noticed this if you followed my blog a while ago. It’s a wonderful way to spend a few hours of your day relaxing and taking photographs. And that’s exactly what we did when we went to The Huntington.
We sort of skipped the Library and Art Collections and went straight to the Botanical Gardens. I didn’t mind whatsoever. The gardens were actually much larger than I was expecting, so skipping some of the indoor activities allowed us more time to see all around the gardens.
Address 1151 Oxford Rd, San Marino, CA 91108
Hours 10am – 5pm. Closed Tuesdays.
Admission Adults $25/$29. Youth $13.
Before going to the Huntington, I never carried for cactus plants or succulents. However, this botanical garden showed me how gorgeous these incredible plants can actually be. I’m so glad I got to finally notice their true beauty because now I love them!
Do you guys have a favorite botanical garden? Let me know in the comments! Maybe I’ll visit them soon.

Lovely post, beautiful photos!
My fave Botanical Gardens so far are:
Japanese Tea Garden – San Francisco, CA
Duke Gardens – Durham, NC
Idaho Botanical Garden – Boise, ID
Downtown Reno Library – Reno, NV
Chihuly Garden and Glass – Seattle, WA
Thank you!
I’ve been to the SF garden but it’s been so long that I should go again since I live nearby. Thanks for sharing your list!
I’ll look forward to your photos from the SF Japanese tea garden! It’s been a long time since I’ve been there too.
Great photos of fabulous gardens! We love Mainau in Germany and Kew in UK.
Thank you! I hope to visit those in the future!
Reblogged this on Our Travel Blog.
It’s been years since I last went to Huntington, and I miss it! Such a beautiful place to stroll around. Did you go to the tea room? It’s pricey, but absolutely incredible; the scones are to die for! I appreciate your post; I hope to return there some day!
We didn’t eat there but I did see the tea room. It looked amazing!
I have been meaning to take my wife to The Huntington Gardens for months! Our favorite garden is Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, CA.
You must go!
I’ve never heard of that garden or city but I’ll add it to my list!
Buenos Aires has a lovely Japanese Garden. Fürstenfeldbruck has nice gardens, esp. during the Gartentage market. Munich-Riem still has remnants from the Bundesgartenschau, now open to the public. And there is Nymphenburg, a small Versailles to the west of Munich.
I’ve been dying to go to Germany! I’ll make sure to add those to my list when I finally get to go.
Thanks Ayla, I feel like I’ve just walked the paths and enjoyed the colours and fragrance.
Wonderful photos plants bring so much joy and tranquility thank you for sharing.
I love plants as well. Thank you for a lovely comment!
