Wineries and Weddings | Napa Valley
Hall Winery
401 ST HELENA HWY S
On this day, my friend had invited me to a wine tasting at one of her favorite wineries. As a member of their wine club, she is allowed to treat us to a free tasting once a year.
I am not a wine drinker in the slightest, but it was a lovely experience. Mostly due to the lovely company, scenery, and service provided by Hall.
Some of the Cabernet Sauvignon wines we tasted:
2016 HALL Terra Secca
2016 HALL Coeur
2017 HALL 1873
2018 HALL Diamond Mountain
We also went at the perfect time to see full bushels of grapes on the vines! It was around the very end on summer. I’m not sure if they harvest all the grapes for wine or leave some out for viewing, but they looked ready to be picked any day.
V. Sattui Winery
1111 White Ln, St. Helena
After drinking more wine than I probably should have before noon, we headed over to V. Sattui to have lunch. This is a popular stop for gourmet picnicking, wine tasting, and the Napa Wine Train.
We went on a weekend so the V. Sattui food truck was there. Their menu had BBQ baby back ribs, tri-tip sandwich, chicken salad, and truffle fries.
I did not get a chance to shop around the marketplace. I was told they do have plenty of picnic food options in there as well.
Christian Brothers Retreat & Conference Center
4401 Redwood Road, Napa
This is a beautiful location in the Napa Valley area that’s very popular for Catholic weddings. The chapel, hotel, and vineyards, are all located in the same area.
It’s a cozy place for celebration of all kinds. I was lucky enough to go here when I was part of a wedding in May. From what I could tell, they did a great job that weekend and covered a lot of the event.
I didn’t attend the wine tastings here, but they do have tastings at the Hess Persson Estate where you can try four current wines from their collections and get a tour of the museum.
Christian Brothers features the Mont La Salle Chapel, winery, a school, gardens, and guest lodging with a pool & hot tub.
Any other places I should go in Napa? Let me know in the comments. 🙂

Check out the Prisoner Winery. Interesting place with great wine. Enjoy.
That sounds interesting! Thank you!
That does sound interesting! I’ll look into it right now. Thank you!
Ah, I’m dying to go to Napa for wine tasting; so lucky you got a free tasting while there! Looks like I’ll have to hop on a plane from SoCal over to northern California for that good wine soon!
Yes, you should! 🙂 Maybe not right now because it’s so hot here lol but the vines will be full of bunches of grapes soon 🍇🍇🍇
Napa is so beautiful and your photos captured the beauty of the area. Sonoma County is equally beautiful, has exceptional wines, and is a little less expensive than Napa. A few of my favorites there are Soda Rock, Quivera, Bella, and Mortorana. Lovely post!
Thank you! I’ll have to look into those wineries! 🙂
wow you’d think it was Italy or Southern France! 🙂
I wish it was! I’ve been itching to go back to the Mediterranean 🙂
We stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast place. They told us to have dinner at Mustard’s with a Michelin star, amazing!
